Welcome to The Cannabis Knowledge Network (hereafter referred to as “CannKnow”) – a free subscription-based community providing access to scientifically grounded, medically informed, and technically robust cannabis educational information that is unbranded and commercial free. To maintain a safe, respectful, evidence-based, and inclusive environment, we ask all members to follow the guidelines below. Reminder, CannKnow is in the early stages of development. Just as our understanding of cannabinoid science is constantly evolving and growing, so is CannKnow.
1. RESPECT ONE ANOTHER
If members choose to make their profiles public, to encourage connection and participation within The Cannabis Knowledge Network, we ask that you:
- Treat all members with courtesy and professionalism.
- Disagree with ideas, not people – any debate should be constructive and respectful.
- Respect different levels of experience and backgrounds – this is a learning environment aimed at elevating cannabis knowledge across different industries.
- Choosing to make your profile public and information exchanges outside the CannKnow platform is completely voluntary and is the users responsibility.
- Uploading a profile picture is optional. Images deemed inappropriate will not be permitted.
2. REMAIN EVIDENCE-BASED AND SCHOLARLY
If users choose to submit information/content to add to The Cannabis Knowledge Network:
- Information must be supported by peer-reviewed research, clinical experience, or recognized medical sources.
- Anecdotal claims or personal experiences submitted as fact will not be published or accepted.
- Misinformation or promotion of unverified treatments or facts will result in content disapproval and will not be published.
- Developed content is to be original. Only share content (text, images, documents) that you have the right to share. Do not submit copyrighted or proprietary material without permission unless publicly available.
3. PROTECT INDIVIDUAL PRIVACY
To protect your individual privacy and the privacy of others:
- Do not submit any identifiable patient or individual health information. This includes confidential clinical data. When submitting cases or experiences, remove or alter identifying details.
- Breaching patient confidentiality can have legal and ethical repercussions. Only submit case details that are fully anonymized and appropriate.
- Clinical data must be fully de-identified in compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy regulations.
- Guard your personal information. On your profile, you are not required to reveal your name or personal contact information to participate. You choose to share your contact details. Do not share sensitive personal data (like phone numbers, addresses, or financial/ID information) about yourself or anyone else.
4. NO COMMERCIAL PROMOTION
- This is a commercial-free, non-branded educational platform. Content submissions advertising products, services, soliciting business or clinical practices will not be published.
- Self-promotion, including links to personal services, are only available on your personal profile if you choose.
- Sharing links to your published peer-reviewed research findings or projects on your profile is welcome.
5. NO MEDICAL ADVICE EXCHANGE
CannKnow does not permit or support the sharing of medical advice. This community is dedicated to educational purposes only and refrains from providing medical recommendations. Members of the CannKnow community are expected to adhere to these guidelines and avoid engaging in any exchange of medical advice.
6. INDIVIDUAL COMPLIANCE WITH NDAs AND LEGAL OBLIGATIONS
- Users hold sole responsibility for ensuring that they do not share anything that violates any non-disclosure agreement (NDA), workplace policy, or confidentiality obligations that they may be under. Cannabis Knowledge Network is not responsible for any breach of confidentiality that may occur through your use of the platform. Do not submit any content or information that is confidential or protected (i.e. intellectual property). When in doubt, obtain permission prior to submitting sensitive data or proprietary research.
- Users hold sole responsibility for the content they submit and engage with.
- Users must follow all applicable local, provincial/state, and federal laws regarding cannabis.
7. REPORT CONCERNS RESPONSIBLY
- If you see or experience behavior related to The Cannabis Knowledge Network (i.e. social media post) that violates these guidelines, please report through the submission box or contact our moderation team.
- All reports are confidential and will be reviewed carefully before any action is taken.
8. PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT
- Do not share your login credentials.
- Each account is tied to individual use and should reflect your own identity and participation.

9. FOLLOW EDITORIAL AND ETHICAL POLICIES
- Content submitted for publication or sharing is subject to review under our editorial policy. The CannKnow administrative team reserves the right to edit or remove any content that violates guidelines in this policy.
- Conflicts of interest must be disclosed, and content must not infringe on intellectual property or copyright.

10. USE OF AI
The use of AI in content creation and development can be utilized in a responsible way. This includes using AI systems to elevate human intelligence, not replace it. The use of AI systems in content creation must have human oversight and will be thoroughly reviewed following the content development, review, and publication policy. AI systems that compromise reliability, safety, and security cannot be used at any point.

These guidelines are enforced by the CannKnow Administrative Team and the Consultation Team to preserve a safe and scholarly environment. Inability to abide by these guidelines can result in suspension and/or removal from CannKnow. CannKnow reserves the right to reject any submitted content that does not follow the guidelines and/or advance medical cannabis or cannabinoid knowledge. Moderation discussions will not be publicly discussed but strive to be fair and consistent in applying these standards.
